How to Track Form Views and Submissions with Meta Pixel

Track views and submissions of your FormRobin forms in Meta. On the Individual Plan, add your Pixel ID under Settings → Meta Pixel.

What Is Meta Pixel Integration?

Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) is a tracking code that helps you measure the effectiveness of your advertising campaigns. By integrating Meta Pixel with FormRobin:

  • Track form views as PageView events in Meta Business Manager
  • Monitor conversion rates from your Facebook/Instagram ads
  • Build custom audiences based on form visitors
  • Optimize ad campaigns using form engagement data
  • Create retargeting campaigns for people who viewed your forms

Plan Requirement: Meta Pixel integration is available on the Individual Plan only.

Prerequisites

  • FormRobin Plan: Individual Plan
  • Meta Business Account: Active Facebook Business Manager account
  • Meta Pixel Created: You must have created a Meta Pixel in your Business Manager
  • Pixel ID: your Meta Pixel ID (numbers only, up to 20 digits)

How to Find Your Meta Pixel ID

  1. Go to Facebook Business Manager
  2. Click All Tools → Events Manager
  3. Select Data Sources from the left menu
  4. Click on your Pixel name
  5. Your Pixel ID appears at the top (e.g., "Pixel ID: 1234567890123456")
  6. Copy the numeric ID (numbers only, no letters or symbols)

Note: Your Pixel ID contains only numbers; FormRobin accepts up to 20 digits.

  1. Log in to your FormRobin account
  2. Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the top right

Your Meta Pixel is now active on all your published FormRobin forms.

What gets tracked?

Once configured, FormRobin automatically tracks:

Event Sent when Where to find it in Events Manager
PageView Someone views one of your forms Standard events
FormRobinSubmission Someone submits your form (with the form name and form ID as parameters) Custom events

Note: Form submissions are tracked as a custom event (FormRobinSubmission) rather than the standard Meta Lead event. This means submissions will appear under Custom Events in your Meta Events Manager. You can still use FormRobinSubmission events for conversion tracking, custom audiences, and ad optimization - you'll just find them under the custom events section instead of standard events.

These events appear in your Meta Events Manager and can be used for:

  • Conversion tracking
  • Custom audience building
  • Retargeting campaigns
  • Ad optimization

  2. Select your Pixel
  3. Click the Test Events tab
  4. Open your FormRobin form in another browser tab
  5. You should see PageView events appear in the Test Events feed within a few seconds

Pixel ID Requirements

Your Meta Pixel ID must meet these requirements:

  • Format: Numbers only (0-9)
  • Length: Maximum 20 characters

  • Valid examples:
    • 1234567890123456

  • Invalid examples:
    • pixel_1234567890 (contains letters and underscore)

How do I remove or change my Pixel?

To remove or change your Meta Pixel:

  1. Go to Settings → Meta Pixel
  2. To change: Enter your new Pixel ID and click Save Meta Pixel Settings
  3. To remove: Delete the Pixel ID from the field and click Save Meta Pixel Settings

Changes take effect immediately on all your forms.

Limitations

  • Free Plan users cannot access Meta Pixel integration. The settings page will show an upgrade prompt.
  • One Pixel per account: You can only connect one Meta Pixel ID to your FormRobin account
  • All forms tracked: The same Pixel is used across all your forms (no per-form Pixel configuration)
  • Custom events only: FormRobin tracks PageView (standard) and FormRobinSubmission (custom) events

Troubleshooting

The Meta Pixel page only shows an upgrade prompt

  • Meta Pixel is an Individual Plan feature. On the Free Plan the page shows an upgrade prompt instead of the Pixel ID field. See Understanding FormRobin Plans.

Error: "Meta Pixel ID must contain only numbers."

  • Enter the numeric ID only — no letters, dashes, spaces or prefixes (for example 1234567890123456). The ID can be up to 20 digits.

Meta Pixel Helper shows no pixel on my form

  • Check that you clicked Save Meta Pixel Settings and that the saved ID matches the one in Events Manager.
  • The pixel runs on published forms. Open the form's live link, not the editor preview (see Publishing and Sharing Your Form).
  • Browser extensions that block trackers also block Meta Pixel; test in a window without them.

Events do not appear in Events Manager

  • Use Test Events in Events Manager to see events immediately; standard reports can take a while to update.
  • Look for FormRobinSubmission under custom events, not standard events, and submit the form after saving your Pixel ID.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use different Pixels for different forms?

No. You connect one Pixel ID to your account, and it is used on all your published forms.

Does the Pixel work on embedded forms?

Yes. An embedded form loads the same form page, so PageView and FormRobinSubmission events are sent from embedded forms too (see Embedding Forms on Your Website).

Can I track form submissions as conversions?

Yes. FormRobin sends a custom FormRobinSubmission event, with the form name and form ID, each time a form is submitted. In Meta you can base a custom conversion on it.

How do I stop tracking?

Go to Settings → Meta Pixel, delete the Pixel ID and click Save Meta Pixel Settings. The pixel code is removed from your forms straight away.
